Wizz Air: New Rome connections to Rhodes and Kefalonia for Summer 2026

Wizz Air is introducing two new connections to Greece for the upcoming summer season from its Rome Fiumicino base.

Rome – Rhodes: Flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, starting on June 28, 2026, with fares from €45.99.

Rome – Kefalonia: Flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, starting a day later, with the same starting fare.

In total, Wizz Air is launching eight new destinations from Rome, ensuring comprehensive weekly coverage for all types of travelers.

Fiumicino remains central to Wizz Air’s strategy in Italy, having been the launch point for initiatives such as the “Let’s Get Lost” flight to Chisinau, Moldova, and other recent successful route additions. The Rome base is now the airline’s largest in Italy, reinforcing its presence and interaction with the local community.

The introduction of the 15th aircraft and eight new routes follows Wizz Air’s recent partnership with AS Roma, becoming the club’s main sponsor.

Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Wizz Air Corporate Communications Director, highlighted that the eight new routes increase the airline’s network from Fiumicino to 72 destinations across 28 countries.

Investments in Rome are yielding results: in 2025, Wizz Air operated over 30,000 flights to and from Fiumicino, carrying 6.5 million passengers—a 4.7% increase compared to 2024.

Overall, Wizz Air continues to expand in Italy with over 250 active routes across more than 30 countries. In 2025, the airline carried over 20 million passengers in Italy, operating from 26 airports.
