Santorini and Corfu are among the six best Mediterranean island cruise getaways, Express reports.
According to the British newspaper, cruises take in many major cities and ports around Europe but sometimes smaller destinations are even more memorable. These more laid-back destinations are almost always to be found on islands and there are plenty to choose from in the Mediterranean – east and west.
Spain and France have the pick of the holiday islands in the west while Greece has long been the focus of islands hopping in the east.
Specifically about Santorini the article mentions:
“A breathtaking Greek island, the remains of a volcano that created the current shape in the 16th century. The craggy setting curves around an underwater caldera (the crater) and is topped by the low, whitewashed buildings of the town of Fira.
