Celestyal Cruises continues to embrace this year CruiseINN, a 4-day startup creation hackathon that takes place on an actual cruise ship sailing around the Aegean Sea.
The hackathon focuses on industries that support the greek economy and after a successful first cruise in 2015 it is adding a second cruise and doubles its participants for 2016.
In each cruise, 30 hand-picked engineering, programming, design, business and marketing recent graduates or students will form teams to create new startup projects.
In each stop, CruiseInn participants will connect with the local innovation ecosystems, while the best three startups will be rewarded with prizes from the event’s partners.
New venture
This year, participants can start a new venture while cruising the Aegean Sea with Tourism & Gastronomy Sailing between 17-21 October 2016
Prizes include 3.500 euros in cash will be offered to the winning teams from Celestyal Cruises.
Winners will also be awarded with free incubation and access to our partners’ community networks and many more prizes.
CruiseInn is co-organized with ThinkBiz, the first official Student Entrepreneurship Association based in Athens University of Economics.
Educational bootcamp
During CruiseInn, participants can pitch their business idea and develop an MVP in 4 days. Thorough recruiting process guarantees quality collaborators to work with. Hopwave, Recisle, JourneyPost, met during Get CruiseInn 2015, sticked together and are still around developing their startup projects.
Educational bootcamp prior to cruise will help participants learn all the startups essential and facilitate their team bonding. On-board training will help them refine their MVP before pitching it to the judges. Mentors and experts will be sailing along to assist in developing of projects.
CruiseInn is all about rigorous startup schedule but having fun as well!
Participants will be sailing around the crystal blue waters of the Aegean Sea. They’ll be visiting Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes and Heraklion where they can either conduct their market validation or relax under the Aegean sun.
Finally, they will be able to release tension at an after-hackathon disco party while sailing back to Piraeus!
