Two of the world's newest cruise ships in Greek port of Piraeus this week

Two of the newest and state-of-the-art cruise ships in the world arrived in Piraeus this week, with the Cosco-managed Piraeus Port Authority’s leadership welcoming the officers and crews of the vessels, naftemporiki.gr reports.

Dep. PPA CEO Capt. Weng Lin welcomed the skipper of the “Spectrum of the Seas” cruise ship, Capt. Charles Sigmund Teige, in the first ceremony.

The 170K-Gt Royal Caribbean-owned Quantum-class cruise ship preceded the arrival of the “Bougainville”, whose skipper, Capt. Remi Genevaz, was also received by PPA officials.

The Ponant-owned vessel is making its maiden voyage in Greek waters, with 23 arrivals in Piraeus planned for 2019.
