The Hellenic Port Association (ELIME) and the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports (MEDCRUISE) signed a collaboration agreement on issues of common interest for the benefit of their members during the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum in Athens.
The two bodies recognize that they share common areas of excellence and goals and, furthermore, that they can enhance their cooperation beyond the industry that they have as a common denominator.
ELIME focuses on the promotion of port industry issues in Greece, including all kinds of port activities such as cruises.
MedCruise’s mission is to promote sustainable cruises to the ports and destinations of the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the Red Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
ELIME and MedCruise will join forces on sharing of statistical data and research of common interest.
They shall jointly contribute to the promotion of the cruise sector and will work together where necessary in order to adopt a common position supporting the development of sustainable cruises.
MedCruise will support ELIME’s applications to the European Union institutions.
Both organizations will collaborate on initiatives of common interest concerning the cruise and will jointly address challenges related to it.
They will also discuss the development and adaptation of port infrastructure to shipbuilding needs and new technologies in order to be prepared to follow the latest trends such as the supply of LNG fuel to cruise ships.
