Celestyal Cruises announced on Thursday it is postponing its tourism program to April, following the continuing travel restrictions internationally and the suspension of cruise ship port operations in Greece due to the pandemic, ANA reports.
Customers who have paid for cruises in March will receive credit for them or get a full refund if they so wish. In the latter case, they will also receive a voucher worth 20 percent of the canceled cruise’s value. Travelers who want to reschedule may do so now for 2021-2022 cruises, and later include the ones the company will announce for 2023.
Shorter cruises (3 or 4 overnight stays) will switch to the port of Lavrio, in eastern Attica, which is closer to the Athens International Airport (25 km), it said. These cruises, the “Iconic Aegean”, will begin on April 30. Celestyal added that at Lavrio its cruise ships will have exclusive use of the port’s passenger station on the days of arrivals and departures, ensuring health protocols are carried out within the time schedules.
