The upward trend of cruises in Chania continues unabated, confirming the initial forecasts for an exceptional year. The port of Souda, one of the safest and most protected in the Mediterranean, welcomes more and more ships, strengthening the tourist footprint of Western Crete.

In the first half of 2025, 72 ship arrivals were recorded in Souda and Chania, with a total number of 152,739 passengers, marking an increase of 35.8% in arrivals and 39.3% in visitors compared to the same period in 2024 (53 arrivals, 109,643 passengers).

The data confirms that 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for cruises in Crete, with all indications indicating that the records of previous years will be surpassed, both in terms of arrivals and passenger traffic.
