The port of Souda recorded impressive activity today, with a triple arrival of cruise ships and a new passenger record.
A total of 9,863 visitors disembarked in Chania, confirming the region’s potential as an emerging cruise destination in the Eastern Mediterranean:
The Sun Princess, of Princess Cruises, arrives carrying 4,796 passengers,
The Azura of P&O Cruises brings 3,206 passengers, and
The Marella Discovery 2 of Marella Cruises completes the trio with 1,861 passengers.
The total number of arrivals raises the bar high and reinforces the strategic image of the port of Souda as a “gateway” for cruise tourism for Crete.
It is recalled that, as Tornos News recently reported, Souda is now among the fastest-growing cruise destinations in the country, with growing interest from international shipping companies and a positive impact on the local economy.
