Aroya Cruises brings the flavor of Arabia to the Mediterranean

The first cruise itinerary in the Mediterranean, with calls to Greece, was launched on June 28 by the Arab cruise company Aroya.

From the homeport Galataport of Istanbul, Aroya, a subsidiary of Cruise Saudi, a company belonging to the portfolio of the Public Investment Fund, departed for a 7-night cruise program in the Eastern Mediterranean, with calls to Athens, Souda, and Mykonos, and then to Bodrum and return to Istanbul on July 5.

The ship will sail the Mediterranean until mid-September, offering a series of six- and seven-night cruises, with calls at Marmaris, Rhodes, and Alexandria.

Aroya Cruises President Joerg Rudolph said the company’s maiden voyage to the Mediterranean is a proud moment for Aroya, as just 6 months after its launch, it is sailing to some of the most prestigious cruise destinations in Europe. This marks, he said, not just a new itinerary, but a new era for Arabian cruising.

Since its maiden voyage in December 2024, Aroya Cruises has successfully completed its inaugural season in the Red Sea, carrying over 70,000 passengers who visited Egypt, Jordan, and the private island of Jabal AlSabaya.

Aroya Cruises is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a leading global tourism destination.

Aroya aims to redefine luxury cruising with its flagship AROYA, which offers 1,678 cabins, 29 dining venues, 20 entertainment options and a host of world-class services designed to deliver a “remarkable Arabian experience.”
