Rhodes is betting on cruising – Participation in CLIA's "Local Voices" program

The Municipal Port Fund of Southern Dodecanese and the Rhodes Tourism Promotion Organization were “present” at the Local Voices initiative of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

The aim of the action is to highlight how cruise tourism strengthens local economies, creates new opportunities for small businesses and connects visitors with the cultural identity of Greece

At the same time, CLIA presented the next phase of the #AllAboardGreece campaign, while also announcing the special exhibition “The Voyage”, which will be hosted at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens from October to early January. An emblematic experience that highlights the charm and prospects of cruising in Greece.

Rhodes records an impressive course in cruises in 2025, confirming its strategic role in the Mediterranean. It is characteristic that from January to June, 157 cruise ships docked at the island’s port, carrying 198,957 passengers, a number that translates into an increase of 44% compared to the same period last year. Overall, 2025 is estimated to end with approximately 470 cruise ship arrivals, compared to 368 in 2024, recording an increase of almost 40%.

These figures place Rhodes among the top cruise destinations in the Eastern Mediterranean, while strengthening the local economy, tourism and employment, confirming the island’s upward trajectory in the highly competitive global cruise industry.
