Greek tourism is experiencing a period of rapid development. Projects are becoming larger, demands more complex, and the need for methodical planning has never been more critical. From marinas and homeports to cruise tourism, resorts, tourism brands, and the construction works that support them, development does not rely only on investment. It depends on how projects are implemented.
In this environment, Project Management functions as a practical tool that provides rhythm, structure, and control to every project. With this in mind, the Annual IPMA Greece Conference 2025 is being organized on December 3 in Athens, under the theme: “Empowering Greece: Project Management for Economic Resilience & Innovation”.
Why Project Management is raising the standards of Greek tourism and infrastructure
Every investment – from a new marina or hotel to a port installation, an infrastructure project, new logistics initiatives, energy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects, or any large-scale development – requires proper management to be delivered with quality, safety, and functionality.
The benefits of a systematic approach to project management are clear:
• fewer delays
• clear prioritization of needs and resources
• improved functionality
• transparency at all project stages
• more competitive outcomes for tourism and infrastructure
With investments in sea tourism, marinas, logistics, and major construction projects increasing, the need for effective project management practices becomes even more essential.
Conference themes of particular interest
The program includes two discussions of significant value for tourism, infrastructure, shipping, logistics, and sea tourism.
At the conference, the two panels examining logistics, major development projects, shipping, marinas, and sea tourism will be moderated by Yiannis Bra, CEO of Five Senses Consulting, with extensive experience in destination development, port infrastructure, and maritime tourism. Within the sea tourism thematic section, there will also be a special interview with Stavros Katsikadis, Managing Director of LAMDA Marinas Investments S.M.S.A. and President of the Greek Marinas Association, focusing on investments in sea tourism and how proper project management creates added value for Greece.
These themes highlight:
• the importance of infrastructure and the supply chain
• the needs of major projects and development
• the role of marinas, cruise tourism, and yachting
• the prospects of sea tourism in the Greek economy
