Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has tweeted a happy Eid al-Adha message for Muslims around the world beginning their fast on Sunday.
The President posted two tweets, one in Turkish and the other in Greek, with the former translating to: “Celebrate Eid with our best wishes to you; peace, prosperity and we wish for peaceful days.”
Anastasiades’ tweet in Greek stated: “We send our warmest wishes for Bayram and wish for peace, prosperity and peace.”
Bayram refers to the Turkish word for Ramadan.
