Employment recorded a 0.4% rise in the Eurozone in the 2nd 3-month term compared to the 1st three months of 2016, while it rose 0.3% in the whole EU area over same period, according to Eurostat.
The increase was 1.4% compared to the respective period in 2015 in the Eurozone, and 1.5% in the EU area.
The official data of the EU’s statistical services revealed that 232.1 million Europeans had work in the EU, the highest rate ever registered, 153.3 million of which were in the Eurozone. This is the highest level of employment since the 4th term in 2008.
