Turkish authorities announced today that the attacker behind the deadly New Year’s attack at Istanbul’s Reina nightclub is Abdulkadir Masharipov from Uzbekistan, reported SigmaLive’s Istanbul-based correspondent.

SigmaLive’s Istanbul-based correspondent added that Masharipov received help from an individual from Turkmenistan during his escape.
Reports earlier this week suggested Masharipov could either still be somewhere within Istanbul or on a Greek island.
