Construction of a new presidential palace for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an in the eastern province of Bitlis’ ancient town of Ahlat continues despite the country’s top court’s ruling, the provincial head of the main opposition party said, protothema.gr reports.
“Construction of the palace in Bitlis Ahlat continues at full speed?” Veysi Uyan?k, the provincial head of the Republican People’s Party, announced on Twitter, sharing a photo of the structure.
Last July, Turkey’s Constitutional Court annulled an article in an omnibus law allowing for the construction of a new presidential complex in the ancient town near Van, Turkey’s biggest lake.
