Europe’s biggest hotel transactions since the beginning of 2025

Hyatt: Expands in Tenerife with €120 Million Investment

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has acquired three hotels in Tenerife from investment firm Blantyre Capital for €120 million (€109,700 per room). These are the four-star Alua Atl?ntico Golf Resort (454 rooms), Alua Tenerife (438 rooms), and Alua Soul Orotava Valley (202 rooms). Blantyre acquired the properties in 2020, investing an additional €20m in renovations.

Britannia Hotels: Acquisition of Crowne Plaza Felbridge in the UK

British Britannia Hotels has acquired the 116-room Crowne Plaza Felbridge, near Gatwick Airport, from MCAP Global Finance. The company plans to invest in the facilities and rebrand it as Elite Venue Selection Felbridge, increasing its portfolio to 65 hotels in the UK.

Plaza Hotel Group: New addition in Hamburg

German Plaza Hotel Group has acquired the 180-room Ibis Budget Hamburg Altona from Union Investment. The hotel is part of a 10,315 sq m mixed-use development and is located 3 km from the Hamburg Messe exhibition centre.

Catalonia Hotels: Strategic expansion in Barcelona

Catalonia Hotels & Resorts has acquired the four-star Hesperia Barcelona Del Mar (84 rooms) from Meridia Capital for €25.3 million (€301,200 per room) or €27.7 million with the associated debt. The transaction generates a profit of €10.8 million for Meridia. The Hesperia is located in the coastal zone of Barcelona’s 22@ district, an urban regeneration project in the former industrial area of ??Poblenou and its transformation into a technology and innovation district of the city. With the addition of Hesperia, Catalonia now has 29 hotels in Barcelona.

CapMan Real Estate: Big deal in Scandinavian hotels

CapMan Real Estate has acquired 28 hotels (4,709 rooms) from Midstar Fastigheter AB, with assets worth €400 million. The hotels are located in major cities in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark and include brands such as Best Western, Elite, Scandic, and Strawberry.

Henderson Park & ??Atream: Investment in five Novotel Suites in France

Henderson Park and Atream have acquired a portfolio of five Novotel Suites hotels (645 rooms) in France, with three in Paris, one in Lille and one in Cannes. The buyers plan a complete renovation and energy efficiency improvements.

PPF Real Estate: Acquisition of Hilton Prague

PPF Real Estate has acquired the four-star Hilton Prague (791 rooms) from the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC). The hotel, the largest in the Czech Republic, has received €50 million in investment. in renovations since 2018.

Limestone Capital: New presence in London with Nobu Hotel Shoreditch

Switzerland-based Limestone Capital AG has acquired the five-star Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch (164 rooms) from LaSalle. The hotel, the first Nobu in Europe, was originally scheduled to be sold in 2021 for £75 million, but the transaction did not close at that time.

These transactions reflect the ongoing momentum of investment in the European hotel sector, with strategic moves redefining the market and industry trends.
