Home Holdings said on Friday it completed the acquisition of a majority stake (about 97.3 pct) in the Athens Hilton building, owned previously by Alpha Bank, for a total of 142 million euros.
“The acquisition of one of the most historic and emblematic hotels of the capital, confirms the trust and long-term strategy of both partners of Home Holdings in Greek tourism, but also the intention of the company to proceed with investments with added value in the domestic market of the tourism industry,” the company said in a statement.
The holding company, whose shareholders are TEMES SA and D-Marine Investments Holding BV, said its intention is to reposition the hotel to the Greek and international market by creating a new city destination, which includes top quality hotel services, luxury private residences served by the hotel, emblematic gastronomy areas and thematic commercial areas.
