Greek Economy Minister Dimitri Papadimitriou agreed with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt to set up a Greek-American investment committee during a meeting on Tuesday, as a continuation of the deal between the ministry and the U.S. Department of Commerce, the ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides acknowledged the positive impact of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ visit to the United States in October.
The investment committee will examine business projects from both sides, aiming at encouraging and boosting cooperation of Greek and American businesses. The committee will meet twice a month.
It will also prepare Papadimitriou’s next visit to the U.S. next December, in which he will escorted by the ambassador.
