“We are in an interesting period for the economy with prospects being good ahead of the completion of the bailout program. Growth prospects are being formed for the country and the issue is for us to take advantage of the prospects opening up,” noted Deputy Economy and Development Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas at a conference on Friday, according to ANA.
Referring to infrastructure, the deputy minister stressed that growth at the Thessaloniki Port Authority (OLTH) is of decisive importance for the country. He added that in the government’s immediate plans is the development of three more ports: Alexandroupolis, Kavala and Igoumenitsa.
He also added that the multi-billion-euro development project for the former Athens airport in the southern suburb of Hellinikon is entering the final stretch, as it is moving ahead at an impressive pace despite the difficulties.
