The Trans Atlantic Pipeline (TAP), beginning at Greece’s borders with Turkey and traversing Greece and Albania to end in Italy, is near completion, according to the manager of the Greek section Katerina Papalexandri speaking at the Athens Energy Forum on Monday.
Papalexandri revealed that the excavations to lay the pipes is complete 100 pct and that 500 km of the pipeline has been built (of a total length of 550 km) and covered. It is now at the stage where the surface of the ground needs to be restored, she said. In addition, the construction of the submarine section linking Albania with Italy began at the end of 2018.
