Encouraged by Greece’s developmental course, the European Union will support the “smart” transformation of Greek regions with new financing instruments, such as the Just Transition Fund, to turn the great challenges of digitization and climate change into opportunities, Marc Lema?tre, Director-General for Regional and Urban Policy, noted in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), on the sidelines of ‘Smart Regions 3.0 Conference” held in Brussels.
In this process of “smart” transition, the local partners will play the leading role and must formulate a serious strategy with strong consensus and growth incentives for the private sector. On the other hand, “we in the EU”, he continued, “are on alert so that our climate ambitions will be accompanied by the necessary support.”
