Critical projects that enhance the functionality and tourist image of the Municipality of Karpathos are on track for implementation. With funding of 400,000 euros from the Green Fund, the municipality is proceeding with the leasing of desalination units for Pigadia and Aperi, immediately covering the increased needs of the summer season, while at the same time, the permanent installation is underway.
Among other things, the boat launching ramp in Pigadia was completed, an important project for marine tourism. In the meantime, cement paving in the settlements of Olympus enhances accessibility to remote areas, while in May, the insulation of the Arkasa school will be delivered, and works on EPAL and kindergartens continue.
In addition, the process of purchasing water supply spare parts has been completed, recruitment is underway to strengthen the municipality, while the digitalization of the Urban Planning archive is expected to accelerate services to citizens and businesses.
Finally, at the tourism level, the holding of the “Tourism School on Tour” strengthened the training of the island’s professionals, confirming the municipal authority’s goal of upgrading the tourism product and strengthening sustainable development, always in line with what the municipality of Karpathos emphasizes.
