Crete is expected to acquire the only hotel to bear the Hilton name in Greece, following the conversion of the historic Hilton Athens into Conrad and Curio Collection. Tsiledakis Group announced the development of Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa, which is scheduled to open in spring 2026 in Chania, in collaboration with Hilton and under the management of Hotelleading.
The project is part of the group’s strategy to expand its portfolio of high-end hotel units and is expected to further enhance Crete’s profile as a four-season destination.

The new Hilton will be located at the entrance to the Old Town of Chania, connecting the historic environment with the modern needs of the international tourism market. It will feature 85 rooms and suites, all with private pools and panoramic sea views, while the infinity pool on the rooftop will offer unobstructed views of the coast of western Crete.
The unit will operate 365 days a year, contributing to the extension of the tourist season, increasing local employment and strengthening conference and cultural tourism in the area.
According to market players, Hilton’s presence in Chania is considered a catalyst for the international promotion of the city, as the brand is recognized worldwide for its association with quality and consistent hospitality experience.

High-end facilities and services
Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa will include:
- A 600 sq m Spa and wellness centre, with hammam, saunas, steam rooms and an indoor heated pool,
- A modern gym with personal training services,
- A conference centre with a capacity of up to 250 people,
- Concierge Clefs d’Or, valet parking, boutique shops and childcare services.

The sixth floor will host the hotel’s top suites, including the 600 sq m Royal Suite, one of the largest in Crete, which will be aimed at VIP guests and an international audience with high demands.

Gastronomy as part of the hospitality experience
Particular emphasis will be given to the gastronomic aspect, with Hilton Chania combining local raw materials and modern Mediterranean cuisine.
The premises will feature:
- a two-story Gastro Bar and Fine Dining restaurant,
- a Patisserie Boutique with gourmet creations,
- a Cigar & Spirits Lounge with sea views, and
- a Rooftop Pool Club & Lounge Bar, which will target the audience of modern cosmopolitan destinations.

From Curio Collection to the flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts
The project was initially included in the Curio Collection by Hilton, however, due to its size and profile, it was decided to operate under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand, the flagship of the group with more than 600 hotels worldwide.
This choice reflects Hilton’s strategy to establish a presence in Greece through selected, high-quality projects with strong local partners.
Andreas Koukas, Hilton’s Development Director for Greece and Cyprus, stated: “Crete is one of the most attractive destinations in the Mediterranean. Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa is here to meet the ever-increasing demand for luxury accommodation options and strengthen Hilton’s position in the Greek market.”
For his part, Lambros Tsiledakis, Vice President of Development and Operations of the Tsiledakis Group, emphasized: “With Hilton’s prestige and Hotelleading’s expertise, we seek to contribute substantially to the upgrading of the tourism product of Chania and Crete as a whole.”

Upon its completion, Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa will be not only the only Hilton in Greece, but also one of the most significant hotel investments in Crete in the last decade.
