“Greek Salad,” an upcoming series from Amazon Prime France, will be set in Athens and filming will take place in the Greek capital for four months, according to greekreporter.com.
The series is a sequel to the beloved French film “L’Auberge Espanole,” or “The Spanish Apartment,” which was released in 2002. The film follows a French Erasmus student in Barcelona living in an apartment with young people from all across Europe.
Two other films, “Les Poup?es Russes,” “Russian Dolls,” and “Casse-t?te Chinois,” “The Chinese Puzzle,” were created following the release of “L’Auberge Espanole” and continue the story of the young Europeans.
“Greek Salad” takes place twenty years after the events of “L’Auberge Espanole,” and follows Tom and Mia, the children of the film’s protagonists Xavier and Wendy, as they spend time in Athens.
According to C?dric Klapisch, writer and director of both the original film and the sequel series, “Greek Salad” will examine issues felt by young people in Europe today, such as sexual identity, as well as issues more specific to Greece, like the migrant and financial crises.
The series will feature shots from all over Athens, and filming is set to commence in December of 2022. The estimated cost of the entire production is around.
