More than 630 schools in Greece participated in the ‘Greek PISA’ assessment examinations on Wednesday, the Ministry of Education said, ANA reports.
The PISA examinations were established by the OECD to assess reading, mathematics, science knowledge, and skills. Greek PISA students of Grades 6 and 9 were examined on Modern Greek language and mathematics. The exams are anonymous and the grades are not included in students’ report cards, while the material is based on what students have already been taught.
It should be noted that the Greek Primary Teachers’ Federation (DOE) of the public sector and the Greek Federation of Secondary Education State School Teachers (OLME) had called for work stoppages during the testing period, but the stoppage was ruled illegal by a court.
