With the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Heraklion hinterland as a backdrop, the 13th Pediadas Cycling Tour returns strongly on Sunday, May 5, highlighting Crete as an ideal destination for cycling and sports tourism.
The start will be at 10 am in the square of Thrapsano, with participants crossing a 40-kilometer route that connects villages such as Lyttos, Apostolos, Galatas and Zoforo, to end up again in Thrapsano. The event is not competitive, encouraging the participation of everyone, regardless of age and physical condition.
The Cycling Tour, organized by the “Aetos” Cycling Club of Pediada, is taking place this year under the auspices of the Region of Crete and in collaboration with the Regional Unit of Heraklion, sending a message in favor of sustainable mobility, health, and physical exercise.
This initiative, which is evolving into an institution for the region, not only promotes cycling as a means of entertainment and ecological transportation but also strengthens the local community, attracting visitors and creating bridges with alternative tourism.
