The Ministry of Tourism approved an investment plan that concerns the improvement, modernization, and expansion of the Amoudara Baths Thermal Therapy Unit of the Municipality of Argos Orestiko within the framework of the Health and Wellness Tourism program with the exploitation of thermal springs of the Tourism Development Action.
As mentioned in this regard, the implementation of the investment plan is expected to contribute significantly to the modernization and improvement of the unit, making it a significant attraction for visitors for thermal tourism, extending the duration of operation throughout the year, thus significantly increasing the number of visitors, the unit’s income and strengthening the local economy of the wider area.
The scope of the investment plan includes, among other things, the total renovation of the interior of the facilities, such as painting throughout the building, replacing floor and wall tiles in the bathing rooms, repairing coatings inside the building, and replacing bathtubs in the bathing areas.
Also, within the framework of the investment plan, the construction of outdoor configurations (benches, kiosks, pergolas, lighting) will proceed, and work to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities (ramps, railings, etc.). In addition, the construction and installation of an outdoor swimming pool using Myrtha Pools technology measuring 10 x 5 x 1.20 m., with a perimeter overflow channel, as well as the construction and installation of a small swimming pool measuring 4 x 3 x 1.20 m. The spa facilities will operate 12 months a year with an average duration of 10 hours a day. The pricing policy is set for baths at 8 euros per person, the outdoor pool at 5 euros per person, and inhalation therapy at 10 euros per person. As for occupancy, according to the economic and technical study, it will be set at an annual rate of 50%. Public expenditure is estimated at 561.55 thousand euros and private expenditure at 374.37 thousand euros.
