Amfilochia is preparing to welcome a dynamic sports and entertainment event of international scope: from June 9 to 15, the city plans to host the international race “Jet Raid Amfilochia – Greece 2025”, co-organized by the Municipality of Amfilochia, the Panhellenic Jet Sport Association (HJBA) and the International Jet Raid Organization.
This is a long-awaited event, which brings teams from Greece and abroad to Amfilochia and transforms the Amvrakikos Gulf and the Ionian Sea into an arena of marine action, in a period that is the “threshold” of the tourist season. Against the backdrop of spectacular open sea routes, the Jet Raid ideally utilizes the geographical location and the seafront of the region, stimulating visitor numbers and strengthening the tourist identity of Amfilochia.
Beyond the race – A celebration for the sea
The racing leg is accompanied by a rich program of parallel activities for young and old. Musical events, themed parties, information activities on safety at sea, art workshops for children, balloon making, fireworks, and of course the gastronomic event “Tastes of Amvrakikos”, transform the week into a complete experience for residents and visitors.
The “Blue Night” Street Party at the city’s beach caf?s (also known as “Blue cafes”) brings an urban pulse next to the waves, giving rise to a summer-flavored evening out – and adding a dose of modern sophistication to an event with a sporting DNA.
Sea, culture, and tourism: A new model for Amfilochia
The Jet Raid hospitality is not just an impressive image with jet skis in the background. It is a coordinated effort to connect the sea with the city’s everyday life and to open a new chapter for the region’s tourism, which is not limited to the classics. At the heart of it is extroversion, experiential experience, and the connection of the place with a type of alternative, sport, and cultural tourism.
And if the speeds of Jet Raid dominate the focus of the week, Amfilochia itself seems to be accelerating towards a new tourism dynamic. The goal now is not only to attract summer visitors, but to extend the tourist season and promote the place as a destination for year-round activities.
