The Municipality of Oropos has decided to temporarily, for a few days, grant a public space, specifically a dirt road perpendicular to the Athens-Oropos Avenue, at the height of the Church of Agios Sostis towards the village of Agia Varvara in the Malakasa Community, to the production company “Zonaras Productions”. The grant concerns the filming of the film entitled “Balances”, which is scheduled to take place on August 4 and 5, from 07:30 in the morning to 20:00 in the evening.
The film, directed by Karolos Zonaras, is a police social drama that takes place in modern Athens and various parts of Attica. It focuses on interpersonal relationships influenced by personal ambitions and the use of artificial intelligence. Among the protagonists stand out actors Giorgos Chorafas, Dimitris Passas, Katia Leclerc and Pavlos Evangelopoulos.
The filming includes scenes with a route and meeting of two cars and a dialogue between the occupants. In case of emergencies, the production is committed to inform the competent service of the Municipality at least three working days in advance.
The Kapandriti Forestry Office gave its consent subject to conditions, which include the prohibition of lighting fires and alteration of the natural landscape, the use of closed-type generators, the placement of chemical toilets outside the forest, as well as the observance of safety and cleanliness measures. Filming must not exceed 21:00 to avoid disturbing the fauna.
Furthermore, during days with a very high risk of fire, as defined by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, filming activities are postponed. The Municipality of Oropos and the production are committed to cooperating for the smooth and safe conduct of filming, respecting the natural environment and the local community.
