The General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture approved, from the point of view of the Archaeological Law, the request of the company “PYRAMIS HOTELS SA” for the repair-restoration of bathroom facilities at the Vincci Ever Eden hotel complex, the addition of a pergola and the development of the surrounding area on a plot of land owned by it, at the 47th km. of the Athens – Sounio Highway, on the beach of Anavyssos, within a declared archaeological site.
However, the competent service also set a series of conditions for granting approval, according to the relevant study submitted. Thus, all excavation works will be carried out under the supervision of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Eastern Attica, which interested parties will notify in a timely manner.
Specialized personnel will be hired to monitor the excavations, at the direction of the Ephorate and at the expense of the project budget. In the event that antiquities are found, the works will be stopped in order to conduct an excavation survey at the expense of the project budget, the results of which will determine the continuation of the works. Also, there will be no expansion of the buildings in terms of area or height.
