The Port of Heraklion welcomed a group of students and professors from Germany, as part of an educational trip to Crete with an emphasis on economy and sustainability.
The visit began with a presentation of the port’s operation, infrastructure, the cruise sector and its strategic role in the local and international economy. The students were then informed about the commercial and passenger activities, the interconnection with other markets and the prospects for future development.
The tour continued at the port’s facilities, where the participants had the opportunity to see terminals, commercial zones and ongoing projects up close.
The visit is part of the Port of Heraklion’s strategy to strengthen cooperation with academic institutions and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of port development, sustainability and spatial planning.
