Beach Volleyball Finals in Heraklion, Crete, a Lever for Tourism Development and International Promotion

The Beach Volleyball Finals hosted in November at TUI Magic Life Candia Maris, in Heraklion, Crete, are a living example of how sport can become a tool for tourism development and international promotion.

This is underlined by the CEO of Activemedia Group, Akis Tsolis, commenting on the CEV Beach Volley European Cup Final 2025, highlighting the importance of the event for sports tourism.

“The partnership between Metaxa Hospitality Group and EOPE, with the Beach Volley Coordinator of Greece, Alekos Paraskevopoulos and the decisive support of the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Malevizi, created a result that exceeds all expectations,” underlines Mr. Tsolis.

He noted that Greece experienced a ten-day period full of top sporting events: From the ATP 250 and the European Beach Volley Finals to the Authentic Athens Marathon. Events that not only brought the country to the epicenter of international sports tourism in November, but essentially placed it at the top of Europe during that particular fortnight.

Crete found itself at the epicenter of European sports, hosting the CEV Beach Volley European Cup Final 2025, from November 6 to 9 at the state-of-the-art facilities of the TUI Magic Life Candia Maris of the Metaxa Hospitality Group, in Heraklion.

This great event provided spectacular matches and a high level of competition, bringing together the top teams in Europe on the sands of Crete.

At the same time, it was an important initiative that strengthens sports tourism and highlights Crete as an internationally prominent destination, with the public being able to enjoy the number 1 inter-club beach volleyball event up close with free admission.
