The event is part of the celebration of Olympic Day, which is held every year under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in more than 150 countries, with approximately 5.5 million participants, under the symbol of the Olympic Rings. In Greece, the central body for the planning and implementation of the celebration is the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki.
