The annual event of the Association of Tourist and Travel Agencies of Crete to award its members was held with great success in Sitia on Saturday, November 8.
The Municipality of Sitia had the honor and pleasure of hosting an important institution for tourism in Crete, which this year successfully completed its 49th year and is held as a sign of gratitude and recognition to all those who are behind the success of Cretan tourism and whose goal is for Crete to remain a unique and hospitable destination.
This specific award highlights, rewards and honors the protagonists, reminding us that the success of the Cretan tourism product is based on the people who serve it with dedication, consistency and passion.
At the center of the report of all those present, Sitia, the only perhaps unexplored “paradise” of the island and the possibilities that should be immediately given to it.
On Sunday, November 9, a visit by the Association representatives to points of interest such as the Municipal Airport, the Toplou Monastery and a guided tour of the city followed, in an effort by experienced tourism executives to get to know and recommend to their associates the easternmost part of Crete which remains untouched, ideal to give tomorrow’s visitor an alternative vacation option.
In its announcement, the municipality expresses its gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Association of Tourist and Travel Agencies of Crete and especially the President Mr. Michalis Vlatakis, who by choosing to hold the event in Sitia “gave the message of equal opportunities and balanced development that Crete as a whole should have in the matter of tourism.”
