Greek tourism outward orientation at the center of the Greek Tourism Workshop in Vienna

The strong momentum of Greece in the Austrian market was confirmed by the Greek Tourism Workshop, which took place at a central hotel in Vienna on Monday, December 15, gathering 51 leading Austrian travel agents and tour operators, as well as 4 media outlets.

The central focus of the Greek Tourism Workshop was the one-on-one business (B2B) meetings, during which Greek destinations and tourism businesses had the opportunity to present targeted proposals to Austrian travel agents and tour operators.

The event was honored by the presence and opening remarks of Mr. Georgios Lymperis, Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office of the Embassy of Greece in Vienna, and Ms. Stavroula Skaltsi, Director of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Vienna, highlighting the steadily increasing demand for Greece in the Austrian market.

Following the professional meetings, presentations were held by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, by the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Mr. Panagiotis Archontis; the Region of Central Macedonia, by the Head of the Department of Tourism Planning and Coordination Mr. Leonidas Tsiantis; the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, by the Head of the Business Support Office Ms. Lena Stefanoudaki; SKY express, by the representative, Aviation Sales Director Mr. Thomas Lachner; and the Region of Crete, by the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Dr. Kyriakos G. Kotsoglos.

It should be noted that the Greek Tourism Workshop in Vienna marked the conclusion of the cycle of international events organized by Tourism Media & Events for 2025, which took place across Europe, Canada, and the Middle East. The events strengthened Greece’s dynamic presence in key markets, promoting among other things high-quality and alternative Greek tourism, Greek luxury tourism, and gastronomy in top international markets.

The event was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, and the Embassy of Greece in Vienna.
