A rescue operation is underway in the sea region of Nea Potidea, Chalkidiki, northern Greece to located a canoeist that has gone missing at sea. A fisherman called the authorities earlier on Friday and told them that he saw the canoeist in obvious distress.
A super puma military helicopter and coast guard vessels are taking part in the search, while strong easterly winds are blowing in the area, hampering rescue efforts.
