Lindsay Lohan is celebrating her 30th birthday with a big party at Kolo Livadi beach in Mykonos tonight together with more than 200 VIP guests.
The Hollywood star flew yesterday on the island and slept all day to recover from her trip.
The so called “bad girl of the American show-biz” stays at Hotel Cavo Tagoo while Mykonos has been her favourite island in recent years.
The party birthday party starts at noon today at Rakkan located in Kalo Livadi with preparations for tonight’s event completed and the star reportedly is not paying anything, in exchange for the advertising the party is going to attract.
Other reports claim that Lindsay Lohan’s fiancé, Russian trust-fund billionaire Egor Tarabasov, is throwing her a big, fat— and very Greek— 30th birthday party in Mykonos.
According to the same sources, several people in Lindsay’s circle have received “save the date” messages for the party, scheduled for July 2 on the island— but no other information was offered.
Guests include foreign celebrities as well as local Greek friends of the American actress. The party us expected to last till dawn and apparantly a surprise gift for Lohan is to be expected.
Fun choice
Vanity Fair characterizes Mykonos as “a fun choice” for the event and comments:
“The island, a bright dot in the Cyclades known as the island of the winds, is what you might call a party island. As much as there are party islands in this world—South Padre, Ibiza, the Bush boys’ private sex island off the coast of Kennebunkport—Mykonos is one of them. It’s actually quite well known as a major destination for Europe’s, and the world’s, gay people, a curious tribe who, if they are boys, kiss other boys, and, if they are girls, kiss other girls. (Though, Mykonos is more known for its gay men than gay women.) There are a number of nightclubs and other establishments on the island that directly address the gay community, and if you’re lucky on your visit, you might see some newly out football star in his revealing Speedo or perhaps even some British millionaire with his latest boy toy. So it’s a perfect a setting for Lindsay Lohan’s big birthday, and might help affirm Lohan’s status as a gay icon. (It’s also an appropriately nostalgic setting, as Lohan has been linked to the descendants of Greek shipping tycoons in the past.)…There is maybe nowhere on Earth more beautiful than the Greek Isles (as beautiful? sure, but not more beautiful), so this is likely to be an event to remember.“
Lindsay Lohan has attracted publicity in Mykonos again in the past when she went for a dip in the sea wearing only white lace lingerie, when she spent time with two male companions – Danish producer, composer and songwriter Remee Jackman and a hipster… mystery man, or when she allegedly neglected to pay the bill at Mykonos Sea Satin restaurant after a succulent dinner of exotic crab legs and lobsters.
In general, though, she is characterized by the local media as approachable, sociable and totally different from her Hollywood reputation as a “wild child”.
