Ticket revenues at Greek archaeological sites, museums +55% in January-August

Ticket revenues at Greece’s archaeological sites and museums were up 55 pct in the eight-month period from January to August 2016, compared with the same period in the previous year, the Archaeological Revenues Fund reported on Monday. The increase was achieved in spite of an 8.5 pct drop in the number of tickets issued.

Total revenues from tickets during the period came to 56,233,696 euros, up from 36,285,350 euros in 2015.

The strongest performance was in August, where there a 68.2 pct increase in revenues year-on-year, while the Athens archaeological sites saw an 86 pct increase in revenues, helped by a 5.8 pct increase in tickets issued.
