Starting this Friday, Sophocles’ ancient classic tragedy “Antigone” will be staged in the Nepali language at the Mandala Theatre.
The Mandala Theatre’s performance of the Greek play which was written before 441 BC is much-expected and the production will add some different elements to the classic story including being translated into Nepali.the
The play is being directed by Rajan Khatiwada, and kathmandupost.ekantipur.com notes that the play’s producers explained that Mandala Theatre’s rendition “is not a Nepali adaptation but rather an interpretation.”
“Antigone” will be performed at the Mandala Theatre in Anamnagar, Tuesday-Friday at 5:30 pm starting on July 7 until August 6.
