The Onassis Foundation has digitised more than 2,000 personal items of poet Constantine Cavafy, including manuscripts, photographs and diaries, and is soon launching an art space in central Athens that will house the Alexandrian poet’s physical library and archive, according to ANA.
The poet’s archive came to the Foundation’s permanent ownership in 2012, thus ensuring the protection of the poet’s material and making it available anew to researchers as well as the public, having been freshly re-documented and digitized in both Greek and English.
