Greek Culture & Sports Minister Lina Mendoni attended an event inaugurating development works at the Jordan River’s Baptismal Site of Jesus, a UNESCO monument of World Heritage, ANA reports.
Mendoni met with her Jordanian counterpart Haifa Najjar and agreed to sign a memorandum on preserving and promoting traditional music, instruments, and dances. The Greek minister also met with Tourism & Antiquities Minister Nayef Hmeidi Al-Fayez and discussed issues relating to museums, and the development of archaeological sites. The Jordanian minister requested technical know-how from Greece relating to the conservation, protection, and promotion of cultural monuments found during large public works. Both agreed to sign a related memorandum.
