- With a series of activities and specially designed tours, the Museum of Cycladic Art welcomes parents and children to the exhibition Cycladic Women: Unknown Stories of Women of the Cyclades.
The emblematic exhibition, which has gained the interest of Greek and foreign visitors to Athens, is organized by the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Ministry of Culture (Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades) and will run until May 4, 2025. This is the first pan-Cycladic exhibition ever organized, presenting history through the eyes of women of the Cyclades, from antiquity to the 19th century.

Guided Tours for Parents and Children 9-12 Years Old
Two Sundays a month, the Museum organizes guided tours of the exhibition specially designed for parents with children 9-12 years old. Families tour the exhibition and learn about unknown stories of women from the Cyclades. Through these stories, they understand the role of women in the Cyclades in both private and public life over the years. How did they go from being goddesses of nature and motherhood in prehistoric times to protectors of the sea and sailors? What positions did Cycladic women hold in the Hellenistic and Roman periods? What was their role in shaping the modern Greek state and what was their contribution to the Revolution? Selected exhibits provide answers to the above questions, while participants can ask their own questions about the roles women had on the Cyclades islands.
