A new era of cultural extroversion begins for the Peloponnese, with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Region and the National Opera, in the context of the 31st International Kalamata Dance Festival.
This strategic cooperation is not just a high-profile cultural initiative – it is a conscious investment in the identity, development and creative potential of the region. The presence of the Opera in Kalamata strengthens the position of the Peloponnese on the modern cultural map, offering a platform to young artists and strengthening local cultural forces.
As emphasized by the Region, “culture is not a luxury. It is a tool for development and a link between the local and the global.” The collaboration with the leading national cultural institution strengthens the Peloponnese Region’s strategy for sustainable development through culture – rooted in tradition and looking to the future.
Special thanks are expressed to the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, the Mayor of Kalamata Thanasis Vassilopoulos, the Artistic Director of the Festival Jenny Argyriou, as well as all the institutions and creators who contribute to the formation of this new cultural identity for Kalamata and the Peloponnese.
The Peloponnese Region confirms its commitment to supporting synergies that unite the local community with the international cultural scene.
