The operating regulations of the Ministry of Tourism Guide Schools are hereby adopted, for the training of students to practice the profession of guide in Greece, by decision of the Ministries of Education and Tourism.
As stated in the decision, this training provides the guide with scientifically documented knowledge and information on the basis of which he/she will guide, with the aim of promoting the country’s tourist image, preserving the historical and cultural tradition and heritage and the economic strengthening of the country’s tourism product.
The educational period includes two academic years of study and ends on July 31, after the oral diploma examinations.
The educational program includes theoretical teaching, visits to museums, monuments, archaeological sites and historical places of the School’s headquarters, educational excursions, guided tours, written exams and oral diploma examinations.
The number of students per department cannot be greater than fifty and less than 15.
