On Saturday, September 27, as part of the evaluation process for the candidacy of Olympus as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, a meeting took place between the Member of the Board of Directors of the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) and Public Relations Advisor Mr. Aris Nikas with the competent evaluators of the International Organization.
During the meeting, Mr. Aris Nikas presented the main axes of the strategic tourism promotion plan implemented by P.O.T.A.P. Particular emphasis was placed on the connection of Olympus with the promotion of Pieria as an integrated sustainable destination that combines the natural environment, cultural heritage and the authenticity of the local experience.
The meeting was an important opportunity to highlight the contribution of the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization in the formulation and implementation of policies that enhance the extroversion and international recognition of the region.
Olympus’ candidacy for UNESCO is not only an honor for Greece and Pieria, but also a strategic tool for sustainable tourism development, which will further enhance the international prestige and attractiveness of the Pieria prefecture.
