The municipality of Syros – Ermoupolis is proceeding with a substantial intervention to strengthen the cultural and tourist identity of Syros, announcing an open electronic tender for the execution of the project “Measures to develop and improve accessibility to points of tourist and cultural interest – Paved path of Agios Athanasios”, with a budget of 166,332.83 euros.
The tender will be held through the ESIDIS electronic portal (www.promitheus.gov.gr) on December 1, 2025, with the bidding system of “individual discount rates per group of works” (article 95, Law 4412/16).
It should be emphasized that the project concerns the enhancement and improvement of the accessibility of the historical path leading to Agios Athanasios in Ano Syros, with the aim of making it fully accessible for people with disabilities (PWDs) and functionally integrating it into the network of cultural and tourist routes on the island.
In fact, the paving will cover the entire path, while the project also includes works for the safety of visitors and the installation of lighting along the entire length of the route.
The project is part of the action “Inclusive Routes – Bridging the gap between nature and accessibility in tourist destinations of cultural and natural heritage”, which is funded under the Interreg Greece – Cyprus 2021-2027 cooperation program.
