A former Greek health minister and internationally acclaimed professor of psychiatry Costas Stefanis passed away in Sotiria hospital on Saturday, at the age of 88. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at the 1st cemetery in Athens.
Messages marking his passing were released on Sunday by Greece’s state and political leadership, including President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Parliament President Nikos Voutsis, Health Minister Andreas Xanthos, the SYRIZA party, main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Democratic Alliance party leader Fofi Gennimata and Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis.
