Greek farmers reopen customs office at Evzones and warn of new labour action

Farmers and livestock farmers reopened the customs office at Evzones, near Greece’s border with FYROM on Saturday, saying more labour action will be taken next year.

The office was blocked by farmers protesting about the increase in taxation and changes in their social security fees.

Speaking to Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the president of their union Thomas Karipidis said a nationwide blockade committee will meet on Dec. 17 to decide on further action as of 2017, saying the only point that has not been decided yet is where the road blockades will be set up.
