A light earthquake was recorded a few minutes before 14:00 on Friday. The epicentre was west of Methoni, in Peloponnese, southern Greece.
According to the Geodynamics Institute of Athens National Observatory the quake was measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Moreover, another 4.3-magnitude earthquake shook the sea area south of Crete on Saturday afternoon but was felt in several areas at the southern coast of the island, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said.
According to the institute, the tremor was centered at a 119.6-km distance south off Iraklion and at a focal depth of 24 km. No damages or injuries were immediately reported.
