A statement on the website of noted and still anonymous UK-based street artist Banksy claimed an exhibition of his works in Athens is “fake”, and is being organized without his consent, naftemporiki.gr reports.
The “World of Banksy” show is being hosted at the well-known Technopolis venue, which is managed by the Municipality of Athens.
However, website statement charges that the works on display are not authentic, but copies and replicas.
Similar exhibitions take place in Moscow, Milan, Miami and Berlin, the statement read.
